This garden was a collaboration with the architect owner. A retirement project, we wanted to use the site to provide all the opportunities that time on your hands can provide in the garden.

Keeping the existing levels, and by moving the garage to the side of the house, we were able to create an elegant and contemporary sitting area in a sunny spot of the garden. A low, curved wall encompasses the seating area with elegant planting in blues, silvers and greys establishing behind the wall. A pergola planted with a selection of the client’s favourite roses leads up to the higher level lawn, which is surrounded by herbaceous borders.

There are various seating spots to take advantage of the sun as it moves around the garden, and the client is erecting a small greenhouse for propogating more plants to fill the generous borders.

The paving is Marshall’s Sawn Versuro in Golden Sand Multi, with bull-nosed steps and golden gravel.
