This unusual woodland garden is a little bit of magic hidden away in an urban setting. The slippery slopes of the garden are now navigated via a boardwalk which encircles the main planting area. A glade of woodland plants has been planted in a matrix style. The boardwalk leads to a deck which is positioned for evening sun and is an entertainment space. The pergola at the top level of the garden provides feature seating area with a structural planting of ferns, grasses and woodland Hydrangea providing a cosy setting. The upper lawn is raised by an invisible timber retaining wall, creating an ‘infinity lawn’. The garden storage unit it disguised with a green roof for added interest. I am looking forward to re-visiting this newly planted garden in 2022 to see how the planting has developed.
