We are nearly there with a lovely contemporary garden in Rutherglen which has been transformed from a disintegrating, ageing site to a sharp, contoured, easy maintenance garden. The house itself is presented in a completely different light and whilst the front garden is practical and includes a large driveway, the back garden provides a great entertainment space. A large composite deck in one corner looks over to an intimate seating area opposite, with up-ended sleepers providing a privacy screen from neighbours. A Cercis ‘Ruby Falls’ shrub to one side will frame the edge of the seating area and draw the eye to the amazing views over Glasgow beyond. At this time of year the gorgeous red leaves mimic the red apples of a neighbouring tree and bring an unexpected balance to the view.
